How to Compress a Video Online

Choose quality
Select High, Medium, or Low quality. Medium is the recommended default — it reduces file size significantly while keeping the video looking good.

Video files are large — an uncompressed 1-minute recording can be hundreds of megabytes. Our compressor uses FFmpeg with H.264 encoding to reduce file size significantly while maintaining acceptable quality. This is the same codec used by YouTube, Vimeo, and most streaming platforms.
Quality levels: High uses CRF 23 — near-transparent quality loss suitable for archiving. Medium uses CRF 28 — a noticeable but acceptable reduction recommended for web sharing. Low uses CRF 35 — maximum compression, best for messaging apps where file size matters most.
Output format: All videos are exported as MP4 (H.264 + AAC audio), the most compatible format for phones, computers, and the web.
