Split method

Each group becomes a separate PDF. Separate ranges with commas.

How to Split a PDF File

  1. 1

    Upload your PDF

Click the upload zone or drag and drop a single PDF file. Files stay on your device โ€” nothing is sent to a server.

  2. 2

    Choose how to split

Select "By page range" and enter ranges like "1-3, 5, 7-9", or pick "Every N pages" and enter the page count per part.

  3. 3

    Split and download

Click "Split PDF". Each output segment downloads as a ZIP archive you can open immediately.

Splitting a PDF is useful whenever you need to share only part of a document โ€” extracting a single chapter from a report, separating invoices from a monthly statement bundle, or breaking a large scanned document into smaller, more manageable files. want2convert's Split PDF tool handles all of these cases directly in your browser with no upload required.

The tool offers two split methods. By page range lets you specify exactly which pages go into each output file. Enter ranges like 1-3, 5, 7-9 and the tool produces three PDFs: one containing pages 1 to 3, one with page 5 only, and one with pages 7 to 9. You can create as many segments as you need in a single pass.

Every N pages is the faster option when you want equal-sized parts. Enter 5 and a 20-page PDF becomes four five-page PDFs. The last part may be smaller if the page count is not evenly divisible.

When splitting produces more than one PDF, the results are automatically packaged into a ZIP file that downloads with one click. Each file is named after the original document with the page range or part number appended, making it easy to keep track of which file contains which pages.

Because all processing runs locally using the pdf-libWebAssembly library, your document never leaves your device. There is no account, no watermark, and no file size limit imposed by a server โ€” only your device's available memory sets the ceiling.

Password-protected PDFs cannot be split until they are unlocked. Use the Unlock PDF tool first, then return here to split.
