Cropping a PDF is useful for removing unnecessary white borders from scanned documents, cutting header or footer bars that were part of a web page, or focusing on a specific region of a technical drawing. want2convert trims all margins in the browser without uploading your file anywhere.
How it works: The tool uses pdf-lib to set a crop box on each page. A PDF crop box defines which portion of the page is visible in PDF viewers โ content outside the crop box is hidden but not deleted, which is standard PDF behaviour. The margins you enter (in mm) are converted to PDF points and applied uniformly to all pages.
Removing scan borders: Scanned documents often have irregular black or white borders. Try margins of 5โ15 mm to remove them cleanly without clipping the actual content.
Note: Because cropping sets a visual boundary rather than deleting content, the file size does not decrease significantly after cropping.
