An email signature is a strange piece of engineering: it has to render correctly in Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, and a dozen mobile clients, none of which agree on which HTML and CSS they support. Modern layout techniques โ€” flexbox, grid, external stylesheets, web fonts โ€” silently fail in most of them. That is why hand-writing a signature usually ends in frustration, and why this generator emits the one dialect they all still understand: table-based HTML with inline styles.

What belongs in a signature: name, role, company, and one or two ways to reach you. The strong temptation is to add more โ€” every social profile, a quote, a banner โ€” but signatures are read at a glance, and each extra element dilutes the rest. The templates here keep the hierarchy tight: identity first, contact second, accent colour doing the visual work.

The image gotcha: email clients do not embed images pasted from your clipboard โ€” a photo or logo must be hosted at a public URL and referenced, or it will appear as a broken icon for your recipients. Use your company site or LinkedIn photo URL, and keep it small; many clients block images by default, so the signature must survive without it.

Installing it:copy the rendered signature, then paste into Gmail's Settings โ†’ Signature editor or Outlook's File โ†’ Options โ†’ Mail โ†’ Signatures. Send yourself a test email and check it on your phone โ€” mobile rendering is where signatures most often break. For the print equivalent of this digital identity, the business card maker uses the same information in a printable format.
