EPUB is the standard ebook format used by most publishers, e-readers (Kobo, Nook, Apple Books), and library lending services. PDF is a fixed-layout format that works on every device without special software. Converting from EPUB to PDF is useful when you need to print a book, share it with someone who doesn't have an e-reader, or archive it in a universally readable format.
How this tool works: An EPUB file is a ZIP archive containing XHTML chapters, images, CSS, and a manifest that defines the reading order. This tool unzips the file using JSZip, reads the OPF manifest to determine the correct chapter order, then renders each chapter HTML in your browser using html2canvas. The resulting canvas images are combined into a portrait A4 PDF using jsPDF.
DRM notice: Many commercial ebooks are protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management), which prevents the file from being read by third-party software. DRM-protected EPUBs will fail to convert or produce empty output. Only convert files you are legally permitted to convert โ such as DRM-free purchases, public domain books, or your own documents.
Chapter limit: To avoid browser timeouts, this tool renders up to 30 chapters. For books with more chapters, the first 30 are included in the PDF. Splitting the EPUB into smaller sections before converting is an option for very long books.
