Flip Image Online Free

Flipping an image creates a mirror reflection. A horizontal flip swaps left and right — useful for correcting selfies taken with a front-facing camera, which typically show a mirrored view. A vertical flip swaps top and bottom, which can correct upside-down scanned documents or creative photo effects.

Both axes: Flipping on both axes produces the same visual result as a 180° rotation, but the canvas dimensions stay the same — no extra whitespace is added.

When to use it: Typical jobs include un-mirroring a selfie so that text on a shirt or sign reads correctly, creating a mirrored copy of a product photo so it faces the other way in a layout, preparing a symmetrical design or reflection effect, and fixing a scan or photo that was captured upside down. Flipping is not the same as rotating: a flip produces a mirror image, while a rotation keeps the picture the same way round and only turns it. If you need a quarter turn or a free angle, use the Rotate Image tool instead.

How the controls work: After you choose an image, a preview appears. Pick Horizontal, Vertical or Both, then press Flip Image. The preview is replaced by the flipped result and the Download button becomes active. If you change the direction afterwards, the earlier result is cleared and you need to press Flip Image again. The downloaded file keeps your original name with the direction added, for example photo-horizontal-flip.jpg.

Output format: A PNG stays a PNG. Every other format you upload, such as JPG, WebP, GIF or BMP, is saved as a JPEG at 92% quality, so transparency is not kept in that output. An animated GIF becomes a single static frame, not an animation. If you need to keep transparency, start from a PNG. Very large photos use a lot of memory in your browser, so if flipping fails, try a smaller copy of the image.

Privacy: The flip is done on a canvas inside your browser. The image is not uploaded to a server and nothing is stored after you close the page.
