Lossless conversion: Unlike JPEG, PNG compression is lossless — every pixel in the output image is identical to what pdfjs-dist rendered from your PDF. There is no quality setting because none is needed. The trade-off is file size: PNG files are typically larger than equivalent JPEGs.
Resolution: Pages are rendered at 2× scale, giving approximately 150 DPI for a standard US Letter document. This is sufficient for screen display and most office printing. Text remains sharp and readable even after resizing.
Multi-page output: Every page of your PDF is converted and numbered. If the PDF has more than one page, all images are packaged into a ZIP archive. Each filename includes the page number so you can easily match images back to their original position in the document.
