When to convert PNG to JPG: Convert when you need a smaller file for sharing, uploading to social media, or sending by email. JPG is the standard format for photographs and complex colour images where a small amount of compression is acceptable.
Transparency note: JPG does not support transparency. If your PNG has a transparent background, it will be replaced with white. If you need to keep transparency, convert to WebP instead, which supports transparency and compresses better than PNG.
