How to Convert Text to Speech Online

Adjust voice settings
Choose a voice from the dropdown, then adjust the speech rate and pitch using the sliders. Preview the settings with the Play button.

Click Play to hear the speech in your browser. Click Generate MP3 to send the text to our server, which creates an audio file with espeak-ng (max 5000 characters), then download it.
Text-to-speech (TTS) converts written text into spoken audio. It is widely used for accessibility (screen readers), language learning, content creation, voiceovers, and listening to documents while multitasking.
Browser playbackuses your device's built-in speech synthesis engine via the Web Speech API — private and instant, with no server involved. MP3 download is different: your text is sent to our server, which uses espeak-ng, an open-source TTS engine, to create the file. The text is limited to 5000 characters, the voice is more robotic than your browser's, and only nine languages are available there: English (US and UK), French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, and Swahili. The text is not kept after the MP3 is returned.
