Is the Excel to PDF tool free?

Your spreadsheet is sent to our server over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, converted to PDF there, and deleted as soon as the PDF has been returned to you. We do not keep copies, and no account is needed. Because the file is processed on a server, avoid uploading spreadsheets you are not comfortable sending over the internet.

What Excel file formats are supported?

The tool is built for .xlsx files (Excel 2007 and later), up to 50 MB. The file picker also accepts .xls and .csv files, but .xlsx gives the most reliable results.

Can I choose which sheet to convert?

No. There is no sheet selector. The whole workbook is converted by LibreOffice on our server, so every sheet is typically included as pages in the PDF. If you only need one sheet, delete the others in Excel before uploading.

How accurate is the conversion?

The conversion is done by LibreOffice, so cell values, borders, and colours are generally preserved, and formulas appear as their computed values. Charts, images, conditional formatting, and page breaks may differ from what Excel shows. Verify the output before use.

How it works: When you click Convert, your file is uploaded over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our conversion server. There it is converted to PDF by LibreOffice running in headless mode, and the PDF is sent back to your browser for download. Your uploaded file and the generated PDF are deleted from the server once the result has been sent. Files can be up to 50 MB and conversions time out after about two minutes.

What is preserved: Cell values (text, numbers, dates), column and row structure, cell borders, and background colours. Formulas are shown as their computed values. The whole workbook is converted; there is no option to pick a single sheet.

What may differ: Embedded charts, images, sparklines, conditional formatting, and page breaks may not match what Excel shows, because LibreOffice renders the file rather than Excel. Password-protected workbooks cannot be converted. For complex worksheets, verify the PDF output before distributing.
