How it works: The tool uses pdfjs-dist to parse each page of your PDF and collect all text items with their on-page coordinates. Items are sorted top-to-bottom and left-to-right to reconstruct reading order, grouped into lines by y-position, and assembled into a clean plain-text document. Page breaks are marked with a --- separator.
Best for: PDFs with selectable text — articles, reports, e-books, and any document created digitally. If you can click and highlight text in the PDF, this tool will extract it accurately.
Scanned PDFs: If the PDF is a scan (photographs of pages), it contains no selectable text and the output will be empty. Use the Image to Text (OCR) tool on individual pages instead.
